Food Trends for 2019

As the end of 2018 approaches (crazy right?), I am already starting to research what the upcoming food trends for 2019. A great place to start to see what will be hot next year is at the Natural Products Expo.

The most recent one took place this past weekend in Baltimore, MD. This is a fantastic show for the food, health, and nutrition community. It allows wellness brands to showcase their products and connect with others in this space. Food trends for the following year are frequently established during this conference. Although I personally was not able to attend this year, one of the members of my team, Sharon, did attend.

It is important for us as nutrition writers and Registered Dietitians to stay on top of trends in our industry. We need to be well-versed in what is up and coming, so we can speak about these trends from a place of authority. But more importantly, we need to provide our clients with the most up-to-date information.

Over the next few weeks, we will be writing a series of blog posts about Food Trends for 2019. In these posts, we will discuss what we think of these trends from a Registered Dietitian’s perspective. Are these food trends here to stay or will they be gone next year like may one hit wonders?
